Fair Play Policy
BitSquare Chess
BitSquare Chess is a highly competitive Arena Tournament platform built on integrity. We enforce a zero-tolerance policy regarding cheating, engine assistance, and unsportsmanlike behavior.
1. Prohibited Assistance (Cheating)
- Engine Usage: You are strictly prohibited from using chess engines (e.g., Stockfish, Leela Chess Zero), calculation software, or automated bots to determine moves during any live active match.
- External Material: Opening books, database explorers, or crowd-sourced assistance may not be consulted during an active game unless explicitly allowed by specific tournament variants.
- Post-Game Exception: You are highly encouraged to use local browser WASM engines and premium server-side engine tools exclusively within the dedicated "Review Game" interface after a match has concluded.
2. Manipulation & Match Fixing
- Sandbagging: Intentionally losing games or artificially deflating your rating to enter lower-tier Arena Tournaments is strictly prohibited.
- Account Sharing: Allowing another individual to play on your account during a tournament run will result in immediate disqualification and account flag reviews.
3. Enforcement & Technical Tracking
The Platform deploys server-side algorithmic behavior tracking to evaluate move selection times, deviation from master game datasets, and correlation with engine outputs.
If an account is flagged for fair-play violations:
- The active game may be immediately aborted or declared a loss by resignation.
- The user will be instantly ejected from any active Arena Tournaments.
- Rating points (Elo) will be recalculated, and affected opponents will be compensated where system rules apply.
- The profile will receive a permanent, non-appealable ban.
